Referral Policy
This policy generally refers to credit card referral links, though we do occasionally use other type of referral links.
What are referral links? A referral link is a link a company gives us, as users of their product, to refer someone to their product. If a person purchases or signs up for the product by clicking through our link, we are given some sort of perk. In the case of credit cards, we are typically given something like 5,000 points up to a total of 50,000 per year for a specific card. Referral links are available to all cardholders of certain cards. In this way, they aren't like affiliate links (which are harder to get) where a company pays monetary compensation based on clicks/applications.
Why do you have referral links? This site takes a significant amount of time (and some amount of money) to maintain. We don't charge for content, so one way our readers can support us is by using our referral links when they apply for cards.
Why would a reader use your link? In many cases, our referral link provides the best available bonus for a card, and it's a nice way to support us at no cost to the reader, other than using our link. We don't think you should apply for a card just to support us!! Only use our links once you have decided to apply for a card.
Why wouldn't a reader use your link? Sometimes we don't have the best publicly available offer through our link. We try to always direct you to the best offer when available. Many of our links (especially on older posts), simply point to the credit card website. We don't know or mind if you don't use our link.
How do I know I've clicked a referral link? Usually the link takes you to a page that specifically tells you a friend (that's us!) will get a bonus for you applying through the link. When it doesn't, and even most times when it does, we indicate on the page or next to the link that you're clicking a referral link.
How can we trust you aren't just spamming us? If you don't trust us, read other reviews of the cards we discuss! If you decide you like it, come back and use our link! We can only get referral bonuses for cards we own, too.

What if I don't get the bonus your link promised me? Our links take you to offers from other companies. As we say at the top, the information in the text of our links is for initial reference. We don't have any reason to think it isn't 100% up to date, but we can't control if the terms of the link change before we update the text. The terms of your offer are from the company on the page you click into. If you believe they did not hold up to the terms of the offer, you need to discuss that with their representatives.
Affiliate & Advertising Policy
Many links and advertisement-looking things (like banner ads) are affiliate links or advertisements. When you click one of these and make a purchase, we earn a commission. Examples include banners for Hotels.com and Undercover Tourist.
We promote sites/products that we believe to be the best, regardless of whether we have an affiliate relationship with them. Those that we do have a relationship with do not dictate our content, and they only influence it insofar as we occasionally receive special offers to share with our readers (which we evaluate before deciding to do so).
