This post covers free vs. paid Fastpass at every Disney park in the world, including how much the paid Fastpass option costs. If you’d like, you can click below to jump to a specific park/resort:
The specifics of Fastpass vary by resort, but the basic formula is the same—select attractions offer Fastpass lines. If you get a Fastpass for that ride, you can take the shorter line. For the resorts where we have detailed Fastpass guides, we link to them.
Walt Disney World FastPass Cost
Walt Disney World’s skip the line system requires you to pay to use Lightning Lanes from now on. There is no more free FastPass at Disney World. There are three options—Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Lightning Lane Premier Pass, and Lightning Lane Single Pass.
How Much Does Walt Disney World Multi Pass Cost?
The price of Lightning Lane Multi Pass varies by the day. It begins at $15 (plus tax, so about $16) per person per day, but prices have hit $39 and we expect $40 soon. A typical day is priced around $20 to $30.
The price of Multi Pass also varies by the park in which you make your initial picks. Here’s an example of peak pricing for Multi Pass:
Animal Kingdom - $29
EPCOT - $32
Hollywood Studios - $35
Magic Kingdom - $39
And here’s an example of more typical pricing:
Animal Kingdom - $18
EPCOT - $21
Hollywood Studios - $26
Magic Kingdom - $29
Multi Pass includes most of the Lightning Lanes at each park (you’ll only book one at a time, though), but each park also has 1-2 rides with Lightning Lane Single Pass that aren’t a part of Multi Pass.
How Much Do Single Pass Lightning Lanes Cost?
Single Pass Lightning Lanes cost roughly between $10+tax and $25+tax for one person to ride the ride one time (you can’t purchase the same ride multiple times in one day), depending on the ride and day. When purchasing, you’ll select a specific time slot to ride.
These prices fluctuate based on day and ride, and while $25+tax is more or less the limit we expect to see, we wouldn’t be surprised to see higher prices in the near future.
Through the free Walt Disney World My Disney Experience app, you can purchase Multi Pass and manage your Lightning Lane reservations.
How much does Lightning Lane Premier Pass Cost at disney World?
Lightning Lane Premier Pass, which includes one-time access to each of the Lightning Lanes at a specific park without the booking restrictions, is much more expensive. Here are the ranges so far:
Magic Kingdom - between $329 and $449
Hollywood Studios - between $269 and $349
EPCOT - between $169 and $249
Animal Kingdom - between $129 and $199
If you want to learn more about Multi Pass and Lightning Lanes, we have a suite of posts:
Paying to stay at a Disney hotel gets you better Lightning Lane access. Guests who stay at Disney’s hotels at Walt Disney World or select other hotels have the ability to purchase and book Lightning Lanes 7 days in advance of your trip, rather than 3 days in advance of your visit date.
This perk of staying at a Disney hotel means these guests will have the best access to Lightning Lanes for the most popular rides.
Other Ways to Pay to Skip the Line at Walt Disney World
Park & VIP Tours. Walt Disney World offers a wide range of tours with a Cast Member guide, priced from about $125 to $400, most of which include ride experiences. When they do, you’ll be walking on the ride either through the exit or through the Lightning Lane. VIP tours cost even more than that (around $500 to $900 an hour, depending on the season) but get you through the Lightning Lane of almost any ride you want (brand new rides might be excluded).
Some tours are focused on rides—particularly the VIP tours, which can include a full day with 10+ walk-on attractions. Other tours will have fewer rides because they’re focused mostly on other topics, like the history of the parks. When we did the Keys to the Kingdom Tour at Magic Kingdom, we got to ride Haunted Mansion and Jungle Cruise with minimal wait times.
Staying at a Disney Hotel, especially a Deluxe Hotel. Guests of Disney hotels get access to Early Theme Park Entry, which allows them access to the parks 30 minutes before other guests. Importantly, though, the lines for the most popular attractions won’t be too short during Early Entry. Early Entry is really the “opportunity” to wake up extra early, get to the parks well before open, and get on one ride with a short wait.
Guests of deluxe Disney hotels have access to Extended Evening Hours. This perk occurs in select parks on select nights, but—in our experiences at Epcot and Magic Kingdom—sees generally much shorter waits than Early Entry.
Other Special Paid Events. Like tours, these aren’t technically Lightning Lane upgrades, but they deserve mentioning for those interested. Disney continues to offer a variety of paid events priced around $150 to $250 that get you access to the parks with smaller crowds in the morning or evening.
There are basically two types of events in this category. The first is After Hours. After Hours events are ticketed events held at the different parks on select nights throughout the year. The primary purpose of these events is to get on rides with short waits, but the pricing doesn’t make them a good alternative to Lightning Lanes. Rather, they’re more appealing for short trips where you won’t be able to make it to the park otherwise. We’ve reviewed:
Second are the holiday parties—Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. These really aren’t specifically about rides, and waits aren’t as low as the After Hours events, though they are lower than typical daytime waits.
Cost of FASTPASS At Disneyland
Lightning Lanes have finally arrived at Disneyland! There is no more free FASTPASS at Disneyland! Things are a little different from Walt Disney World, though, so here’s how the prices shake up.
How Much Does Disneyland Multi Pass Cost?
Lightning Lane Multi Pass at Disneyland starts at $32 (no tax) per person per day, with peak pricing around $39. Multi Pass includes most of the Lightning Lanes at both parks (you’ll only book one at a time, though), but two rides have Single Pass Lightning Lanes that aren’t a part of Multi Pass.
You can read more about Lightning Lanes at Disneyland (both parks) here.
How much do Lightning Lane Single Pass at Disneyland cost?
Lightning Lane Single Passes generally cost between $20 and $27 for one person to ride the ride one time (you can’t purchase the same ride multiple times in one day), depending on the ride and day. When purchasing, you’ll select a specific time slot to ride.
These prices fluctuate based on day and ride, and while $27 has been a cap so far, prices pretty much go up every few months.
How much does Lightning Lane Premier Pass Cost at Disneyland?
Disneyland also has Lightning Lane Premier Pass—allowing one-time access to each Lightning Lane at the two parks without the booking restrictions. It costs around $400 per person per day.
Other Paid FastPass Options at Disneyland
There are a few other ways to get on rides quickly at Disneyland at a price.
Park & VIP Tours. Disneyland has more limited tour offerings than Walt Disney World, but for the right price they’re happy to put together the VIP tour of your dreams.
Other Paid Events. Disneyland has recently been expanding its paid event options. Unlike Walt Disney World’s events, these tend to be thematic (90s Nite, Sweethearts’ Nite) to appeal to the high concentration of locals.

Shanghai Disneyland has a paid Fastpass option called Premier Access. Their former free Fastpass service is no longer available.

Disney Premier Access is the most direct paid Fastpass system around. You simply pay for the right to ride a ride at any point during the day. Tokyo Disney Resort has brought back free FastPass! The new system, called “40th Anniversary Priority Pass” is not expected to be permanent, but it is still around as of this update, and it covers just over a dozen attractions.
Tokyo Disney Resort also has introduced paid FastPass in the form of Disney Premier Access. The skip-the-line service is typically available for Enchanted Tale of the Beauty and the Beast and two other rides (that change). It costs around 2,000 YEN (about $15) per person per attraction.
