And if you want to dive into more about the other rides at Epcot, we have guides to each:
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Basics
The Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is a 3D dark ride at Disney’s EPCOT in Walt Disney World. It
does not offer rider switch
is a Tier 1 ride on Lightning Lane Multi Pass
has single rider line
is just under 5 minutes long
Measured by wait times, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is usually the second or third most popular ride in Epcot, behind Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind and sometimes Frozen Ever After.
If you’re visiting Epcot with a toddler, this is likely to be one of your must-do rides. It might be too scary for some kids—ours went through a phase where basically any indoor dark ride scared them, and Remy’s is more intense than other dark rides.
Where Is Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in Epcot?
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is in the France Pavilion at Epcot.
This is between the UK Pavilion and the Morocco Pavilion. It’s also next to the International Gateway entrance, which is where guests of the Disney Skyliner resorts and Crescent Lake resorts enter the park.
How to Ride Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is a tier 1 ride on Lightning Lane Multi Pass and always a good option for your initial Tier 1 pick, as long as you can get a decent time. If you’re able to arrive early for Early Entry using the International Gateway entrance, you might instead head straight to Remy’s and use your tier 1 Lightning Lane slot for Frozen Ever After.
That bolding is important—rope drop and Early Entry at Epcot is particularly interesting because the park has two entrances. The main entrance is at the front of the park and will have a long, long walk to Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.
The World Showcase entrance (aka the Epcot International Gateway entrance), used by guests of the Disney Skyliner resorts and Crescent Lake resorts, is placed right next to the France Pavilion, which will house the ride.
If you’re entering the park via the International Gateway entrance then you have the option of heading to Remy’s first during Early Entry. If you’re arriving via the main entrance, Remy’s is not a good place to start Early Entry because it is so far away. (The above map reflects this well.)
If everyone in your group who wants to ride is 7 years of age or older, the single rider line is an option.
If none of those work for you, there’s no “good” way to fit Remy’s into your day. The only thing you want to flag is the size of Epcot. If you see Remy’s with a surprise 20-minute wait at 2PM, you might easily be 15 minutes away. Even if that wait doesn’t go up while you’re on the way, it still cost you at least 35 minutes.
If you wait until late in the day, you might wind up having to miss Epcot’s nighttime show. Otherwise, the “best” option is probably to just try and time a visit to a nearby pavilion around a time you’re willing to wait a bit in line.
Everybody Wants to be a Rat!
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is a 3D trackless ride. It’s Disney World’s third trackless dark ride (Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway). You’ll need to wear 3D glasses during the ride, and most of the experience takes place on screenz.
You’re shrunk down to the size of a rat, and you follow Chef Remy (the rat from the film Ratatouille) on an adventure through Gusteau’s Restaurant, with the ride vehicles taking you on unpredictable twists and turns through the kitchen and dining areas.
Overall it’s a very enjoyable ride with some clever effects. There are some good practical sets and effects, too, but the screenz really dominate the ride.
Besides the obvious, I suspect Remy’s works best for kids because they’re least likely to have encountered fairly basic 3D screen effects before. If you’re at all seasoned in theme parks outside Disney World, you’ve probably encountered rides that do a lot more with 3D effects than what you’ll see on Remy’s.
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure FAQ
Is Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at Epcot Scary?
While the ride has no height requirements and is generally good for kids, it can be a bit intense and scary. Through two years old, Zoe was very afraid of the ride.
When Did Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure open?
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure opened on October 1, 2021 at Epcot as part of Disney World’s 50th Anniversary kickoff. The ride opened alongside a new section of the France Pavilion, including the restaurant La Crêperie de Paris.
Is this the same ride that’s in Paris?
Best we can tell, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is identical to Ratatouille: L'Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy, a ride at Walt Disney Studios Park in Disneyland Paris. I believe there may be one or two lines that have switched from French to English, but otherwise the ride seems the same.
