Need to grab a bite at Magic Kingdom but don’t know where to go? Here’s your list of the best Magic Kingdom quick service restaurants! Not only do we cover the six best places for a quick bite in the Magic Kingdom, but we cover all the restaurants Disney qualifies as “quick service”, noting the best options at each!
Quick Service at Walt Disney World
Just in case you’re not familiar with what “quick service” means: quick service meals are those meals where you typically order from a cashier, pick up your food at a counter, and find your own seat. Disney dining plans divide meals into quick service and table service, the latter (not covered here) being where you’re seated and have a waiter.
We have posts discussing the best quick service options at each park:
Best Quick Service Restaurants at Magic Kingdom (you are here)
According to Disney, Magic Kingdom has 22 total quick service restaurants. But this list is was too broad. It includes Starbucks (Main Street Bakery), for example, along with a ton of snack stands. Really, there are five quick service restaurants to consider at Magic Kingdom, along with around five smaller stands we’ll discuss below, too.
Best Magic Kingdom Quick Service Restaurants
We’re going to start with the five Magic Kingdom restaurants that we think are best for meals. For all that could be said about these restaurants, you could break them down by the type of cuisine they focus on. If you really want Italian-flavored food, just ignore the rankings and go to Pinocchio Village Haus. So, here are the rankings with cuisine type in parentheses:
Columbia Harbour House (Seafood)
Casey’s Corner (Hot Dogs)
Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe (Tex-Mex)
Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe (Burgers)
Pinocchio Village Haus (Italian)
No Longer Quick Service: Be Our Guest
Review of Breakfast at Be Our Guest
Just noting here that Be Our Guest no longer qualifies as a quick service option. In the past, breakfast and lunch were quick service meals. Now, breakfast has been eliminated, and lunch has become table service. As a result, you’ll usually need an Advance Dining Reservation (ADR) to get a table.
1. Columbia Harbour House
Our Review of Columbia Harbour House
Columbia Harbour House Menu
Menu Highlights: Grilled Salmon, New England Clam Chowder
Columbia Harbour House is an easy pick for the #1 slot. It has variety, a good location, good theming, and our favorite seats in all of Magic Kingdom.
You’ll find Columbia Harbour House in Liberty Square, along the lefthand side if you’re walking from Fantasyland (the Tangled Restrooms) into Liberty Square. The seating for Columbia Harbour House actually goes over that passageway, and those seats are our favorite in Magic Kingdom.
Columbia Harbour House serves a variety of seafood items, including: lobster roll, shrimp salad, and grilled salmon; it also serves chicken.
The theming is eastern seaboard / nautical, and it’s filled with lovely touches that really bring the dark-wood space to life.
2. Casey’s Corner
Our Review of Casey’s Corner
Casey’s Corner Menu
Menu Highlights: Chili-Cheese All-Beef Foot Long Hot Dog; Featured Hot Dog; Chipotle Barbecue Loaded Fries
What Casey’s lacks in variety, it makes up for in deliciousness and, more importantly, creative limited time offerings. Casey’s menu is mostly hot dogs (though admittedly a wider variety of hot dogs than you’ll see most anywhere), with some other American favorites, like chili and corn dogs filling out the menu.
Casey’s mean changes regularly, with new featured hot dogs taking over. In the past few months we’ve seen: Jalapeno Popper Hot Dog, Cheetos Hot Dog, Loaded Mashed Potato Hot Dog. Could you argue these are actually disgusting things no reasonable person would eat? Sure. But you could also argue they’re fun, tasty, and just what the instagram era deserves!
Casey’s is located on the northeast end of Main Street U.S.A. (the end closest to Cinderella Castle) and is themed to baseball and a ballpark. We rarely sit inside, as the outside seats are a great spot to spend a few minutes.
3. Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe
Our Review of Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe
Cosmic Ray’s Menu
Menu Highlights: Triple-B Burger, Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich, Impossible Patty Melt
After Casey’s things get tougher. While we think Columbia Harbour House is a step above the rest and we find Casey’s fun hot dog varieties and good location appealing, the remaining three meal-focused quick service stops really come down to cuisine.
Located between Tomorrowland and Fantasyland (across from Mad Tea Party and Tomorrowland Speedway) Cosmic Ray’s serves a variety of burgers and sandwiches, as well as salads and Chicken Strips.
The only notable feature of Cosmic Ray’s is actually quite notable—Sonny Eclipse! Sonny is an audio-animatronic who plays a 25-minute musical set on his Amazing Astro-Organ. It’s a bit cheesy and he’s not the fanciest animatronic in Walt Disney World, but he is one of those underrated touches that you’ll never experience without a stop at Cosmic Ray’s.
4. Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe
Our Review of Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn And Cafe
Pecos Bill Menu
Menu Highlights: Fajitas, Pork Carnitas Nachos, Burgers
Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe has long been our go-to stop at Magic Kingdom. It’s a Tex-Mex shop offering fajitas, burgers, and tacos located in Frontierland all the way in the back adjacent to the path to Adventureland.
The highlight of Pecos Bill is the “fixins” condiment bar, where you’ll have unlimited access to fajita toppings like cheese, tomatoes, sour cream…and writing this I realize how potentially disgusting that sounds…but it’s great!
Basically what it comes down to is that if you’re willing to split the paid fajita ingredients and go wild on toppings, two people can be fed by a single quick service meal at Pecos Bill.
5. Pinocchio Village Haus
Our Review of Pinocchio Village Haus
Pinocchio Village Haus Menu
Menu Highlights: Gourmet Cheese Flatbread, All Meat Flatbread, Tomato Basil Soup
Pinocchio Village Haus just gets a big shrug from us. It’s Italian menu features flatbreads, pastas, and a chicken parmesan sandwich, but there’s nothing really standout here. It does have seating overlooking the start of “it’s a small world,” but it is usually occupied.
The central spot across from the Prince Charming Regal Carrousel means it draws in large crowds much of the day. Basically, if Italian-flavored food is what you need, Pinocchio is for you, otherwise, consider another spot. (Note: Despite the name, this is not a character meal.)
Other Quick Service Options at Magic Kingdom
It’s a bit unfair to categorize these options as “other,” particularly The Friar’s Nook. There are some great food items at these restaurants, but they all are more limited than the top five restaurants. The first three are just too physically small and limited in their offerings—they’re really more like glorified snack stands. The remaining two are seasonal, so you’ll only see them open a few days each year.
The Friar’s Nook
Menu Highlight: Specialty Tots
The Friar’s Nook specializes in tots, with offerings like Creamy Bacon Macaroni & Cheese Tots and Curry Brat Tots. They also have Brats and Plant-Based Brats. Unfortunately there’s really limited seating and it’s all outdoors (though shaded).
The Lunching Pad
Menu Highlight: Hot Dogs
The Lunching Pad is located right in the middle of Tomorrowland underneath Astro Orbiter. If you just want a hot dog (they have some specialty ones, usually), it’s a fine alternative to Casey’s. The seating is entirely outdoors but mostly shaded.
Tortuga Tavern
Our Review of Tortuga Tavern
Tortuga Tavern Menu
Menu Highlight: Varies
Tortuga Tavern is located across from Pirates of the Caribbean. It doesn’t operate every day of the year, so the menu is tough to pin down but usually includes standard theme park fare.
